the eldest

carlee is my oldest sister. and sibling. the oldest of five kids. as such, her responsibilities are many. she is the protective one, she will scold you if you do something not very good, she will console you when you cry, and she will listen to your incredibly long boring stories. somehow, being the oldest gives you patience for that sort of stuff.

carlee and i are very different in some ways. but very similar in others. i usually get advice from her, and even though she's always right, i don't always do what she suggests. and sometimes i get bitten in the butt for it. but what can ya do?

that sister of mine is six feet tall with long slender legs that i envy and a pretty face. my legs are short and stubby. we have both agreed that i could take two inches from her and we'd both be happy. then i'd be 5'8" and she'd be 5'10". everybody wins, men included.

my favorite thing about her is that when i'm having a hard time or need someone to cry to, she will always listen no matter how long i cry to her for. also, we can talk/facetime for a very long time just because we don't want to get off. it's just a thing.

like all of my siblings, carlee is very motivated (i'm the least motivated of the fam). she has a masters degree, went on a mission, goes to the temple weekly, and finds ways to be productive all the days. this is very unlike me. i always have good intentions to be productive. but i end of facebooking or playing my guitar.

carlee, lindsay, me

carlee, like all of my family, is a travel junkie. however, since no one else can really afford to travel, carlee does it for us. this year alone she already went to china, korea, and has two more trips planned across the states! holy!

carlee is extremely stylish. not a day goes by that she isn't wearing excellent pants. and pants are the most important part of one's outfit, am i right? always.

i don't know where i'd be without her! haha, jk. i'd be in a carlee-less world. and that world would be dark.

the last weekend.

this is my last weekend in twin falls. i was supposed to move out in a week and a half. but i've been working long days and will finish my hours a little early! thank the heavens. so i'm moving out on friday. FRIDAY. FIVE DAYS EARLY.

to make my last weekend go a bit fast, lizzie came to visit.

friday night we got dinner at good old kfc. we did some shopping and saw 'paranoia' at the theater. liam hemsworth really is what made that movie. i would recommend.

while shopping, we found bras bigger than our heads and tried on some cute shoes.
saturday we went rafting with my ward. it was fun. the sun left us halfway through so it got FRIGID. then we came home, took a nap, ate a bunch of junk food (including but not limited to cheetos, pringles, m&m's, muddy buddies), pinterested, and watched movies.
we had pillow talk and i forgot how good of pillow talks we used to have. we used to have pillow talks for hours!
we also jammed and it was so nice. we have a few songs we always play including the best of me by the starting line, six feet under the stars by all time low, and sugar sweet by sing it loud.
it was stellar. kept me sane for a few more days! so cheers to that.

lake powell

Lake Powell was grand, once again. Carlee and I decided that we can start saying Lake Powell is our yearly vacation since this was our second year going! So basically, it's staying a tradition.
We spent a couple nine hour days out on the lake... wakeboarding, wake skating, slaloming, skiing, tubing, driving around for hours, and eating all sorts of junk. dreamy.
There's not too much to say, but a lot to show...

next week.

Next week, I will make the 3 hourish drive to South Jordan to meet my family, then immediately after my arrival, make the 5 hourish trek to Page, AZ. Page is a really nice city where my family likes to vacation. We sleep there, we eat there, then we drive 30 minutes to Lake Powell and spend all day on that lake.

I love road trips with the fam. Even though we're squishing six people in a truck. We'll deal. Let's just hope that the truck doesn't break, Dad's teeth don't break, and the strap on the boat doesn't break like last year.

Last year was our first year going. I recall saying that it might have been more fun than a cruise, or at least tied. That is saying something. Either way, I could say I love being on a boat on water. It is the best place to be in the world, in a boat on water. Or behind a boat on water.
