thnx

I am thankful for...
(warning: mushy post. compared to my usual, at least)

progression.
..in anything.
i love the feeling when i'm working towards a goal or when i
accomplish something i've been working towards. I don't like feeling stuck or
like I'm not moving forward.

music.
what would i do without it?
nothing, i think.
writing and playing music is such a huge part of me and i feel so fulfilled
when i write something or learn something new.

sisters.
they're who i go to for advice or just to cry to.
they're always there for me.

the temple.
i've been going a lot more often this fall and i've noticed that i have a
much larger desire to
serve more, pray more, read my scriptures more, and i'm just happier.

hugs.
they're just the best.

life lessons: on being a man

I am convinced I would be twice the man as most men if only I was a man (relating to dating). But I’m not, which is really quite fine. I just wish men would do their duties and not try to push them onto women.

The following are tips for men that should be common sense but became not so common of sense lately because of men becoming lazy. I have learned that men don't do these things from personal experience. And it is not appreciated.

1. Never ask a girl on a date over text. It's offensive. And also I don't really consider it a date cause it's like, how am I supposed to know it's a date? Then I'm all confused and then it turns out it is a date and then it's annoying that you couldn't actually call to ask.

2. Never take a girl bowling on one of your first dates. No one likes bowling dates. I've gone on countless bowling dates and they all just mesh together.

3. Don't get the girl's door when you pick her up then not get it later, like after dinner. It's trickery; making us women think you're somethin special. Once you get her door once, you have to commit. You have to get it every time. And if you never get it, then you're not a worthy date.

4. Don’t try to give a girl your number or tell her to text or call you. This guy recently said to me, "I'll give you my number so you can text me and we can do something." I called him out on that and he ended up getting my number, but it was already a large strike against him.

5. Pay with your card because it's awkward when the girl has to sit there watching you sort through your cash.

6. Don't be late for a date. Even five minutes. If you're running late, call her right away.

7. Don't be awkward.

So there you go. I promise you, if you take these tips to heart, your dating life will be much enriched.

to make me happy.

alright, time for another list of things that are good to my life.

2. sleeping in on weekends.
3. spending all saturday in my jammies with pinterest and a movie.
4. it's almost october... meaning haunted houses, corn mazes, etc.
5. leggings and tights.
6. my new sheep skin blanket.
7. skyping mom and dad.
8. not dreading work days now that i've started at somewhere new.
9. music music music. driving and music.
10. general conference is coming. finally.
11. aleisha is coming to visit in 11 days!
12. free lunch everyday at my new internship.
13. i will never get sick of washington trees.

so, life is pretty good.

9.26.2013

three weeks.

alright, so i've been in washington for 3 weeks now. i'm not homesick yet! i really love it here. it's so pretty. i've posted too many nature pics on instagram, but i just can't help it!
look at this place!

Especially when it rains...

so, there are some notable differences here compared to utah.

people drive quite slow and are really nice on the road. the freeway is 55 mph in oregon. it's cause all the liberals live there and you know, they gotta protect you. here in washington it's 60 mph mostly but when you drive more north it goes up to 70, so kinda slow. and people don't go over the speed limit really. maybe 5 over. people will always let you in if you need to switch lanes and they'll make room for you. this is so different from utah where people won't let you in. so, it's nice. i'm usually a pretty stinkin fast driver, but here it's so pretty. it's nice to drive slow and tree watch.

at church, their emphasis is missionary work.
'bring a friend!'
'invite someone new!'
where in utah it's,
'get married!'
'marriage is a blessing!'
so very different.

everyone drinks coffee, obviously. i'm like weird that i don't. it's whatevs.

there are churches on like every corner. but they're all different. the church of god, new heights church, lifepoint church, living hope church. this church, that church.

there are kind of a lot of attractive men here. so, that's a change.

there are beggars everywhere. but, i don't associate with them. rude, i know.

i've already made a lot of friends in my short time here! thank heavens people are normal here, unlike idaho. rainy season is starting. and while it makes the trees look gorgeous, rain makes me anxious for some weird reason. i always get kind of tense when it pours. so, i guess i'll have to get used to that!

top 5.

I used to always say everything was in my top five favorites. Like if someone asked me if I liked a certain movie I would say, "Yeah, that's probably in my top 5 favorites". This was the case for pretty much any topic, and I didn't do it on purpose. At that moment, it really was in my top 5. But it got me to thinking, what really is in my top 5?

bittersweet

Summer is pretty much over. Monday was my last boating day of the year. It was terribly sad. Like, I honestly felt a little emotional.

Summer did me well. And so will fall, I hope.

A few of my favorite things about summer were:

recording my first album ever

playing with little Albus

and taking family pictures.

I am excited for fall; wearing scarves and cardigans, drinking apple cider, and going to corn mazes. But it's always so so so sad to see summer go.

7.24.2012

5.07.2012

welcome, summer.

Welcome.

I'm so excited for this summer. And it's finally arrived! Well, the no school part, but not the hot part. But that will come.

I've made a Summer Frolic List for this year. Many of the items are things I did last year that were so fun, I just have to do them again! But there are also a few that I've never done before, or at least not for a long, long time.

Here's some of my list:

 Cliff jumping at Porcupine
(but I will be careful and not jump off the 50 foot cliff this time,
because of that one time last year)
Go to a fair
Hike Mt Timpanogas
Lake Powell
 Bear Lake raspberry shakes
Canoeing
Water fight
Camping
Bridge jumping
Pie party
Happy Hour at Sonic
Homemade ice cream
 Dirt biking
Tandem bicycle
Rock climbing
Moth & the Flame rooftop show on June 1st
Picnic
Play Taste Testers
Read a book

I love the summertime. You can be active and get sun and it's just so happy!
