triathlon

holy crap, i just did a triathlon!

i've never done a race before and it was one of my new years goals. well, my goal was actually to run a 10k or a half marathon. but i think this counts. it was a 500 yard swim, 9 mile bike, and 5k run. it kicked my butt pretty good. a nice little chunk of that biking was uphill, which was killer. and i didn't even have a road bike! no matter, i still finished in 1 hour and 26 minutes. my goal was an hour and a half, so i barely beat it. and i beat my records in swimming and running!

the whole time i was racing i kept thinking, "what was i thinking?!"
but even though i kind of hated it, i also really loved it. and once i forget the hate part, i'll probably do it again!

this kid, mark, right here kicked my butt. but i knew he would; he has a gender advantage! he kind of got me into doing this triathlon, so holler! best day ever.

record breaking

today i broke my mile record.

it may sound lame, but i ran it in 8:33.

EIGHT AND A HALF MINUTES!

that's the best i've ever done, for heaven's sakes! i beat my previous time by 35 seconds! i could taste iron and if i had run a second more i'm 97% positive i would have hurled. but, ya know.

whatevs.

twenty thirteen, the beginning.

Thirteen has always been my lucky number.
Ever since I started playing soccer and Dad was my coach. He had all the uniforms and I got to pick my jersey before anyone else. Thirteen was the highest number, so that's what I chose. That number has served me well many a time. All through soccer I did quite well. And I won a signed Mitt Romney poster with that number once. See, pretty lucky, eh?
Anywho, this must mean that 2013 is my lucky year. Which probably means that I'm gonna get married, have a child, and go on a cruise this year!

But really,
I am graduating this year. From college. And I could argue that that's a pretty big deal.

That's all I really know about this year. But I have a few hopes and dreams for it. Like letting off a wishing lantern. And running a 10k or half marathon. And performing my music again. So anyways.

wake.

I can board on one now. I guess I'm moving up in the world.

I used to water ski. Cause I liked it.

I tried getting up on the wakeboard last year. Y'know, when we had no tower and I had no motivation. Two very important components to a successful boarding experience. I couldn't do it. Instead I just wanted to ski cause I knew I could.

But this year I decided I really wanted to wakeboard. That was one of my goals for the year. And I done it. Wassssssuuuppppppp.

But hold up, near the beginning, my commitment issues started getting in the way. For a while, I couldn't make up my mind if I want to go regular or goofy. I started it out with goofy, but after a while, something changed and I started poppin up reg.

But I quickly overcame those issues and I'm keepin it goofy.

I've been trying to get air and do 180's mostly.

I kinda love this sport.

resolution.

I have some things I want to do this year. Some of them should have been done sooner. But now's better than never. These resolutions include:
  • Bear my testimony in church.
  • Buy an SLR camera.
  • Get a 3.5 GPA or better this spring.
  • Get up on the dang wakeboard.
  • Perform my music in public.
  • Eat some Indian cuisine in America.
  • Get out of the country. Or atleast the state.

After I complete each goal I'll blog about my experience. Some might be kind of boring, others may not. Either way, I'm really excited. And I won't fail. Atleast not without trying.
